CP CHAMBER ORGANIZES TOPPING OFF CEREMONY FOR TOWNE CENTRE PROJECT – July 14, 2016

Cliffside Park, NJ —   The Cliffside Park Chamber of Commerce organized a topping off ceremony to celebrate the completion of the top floor of the Cliffside Park Towne Centre. The ceremony also acted as a kick-off for the Chamber’s Annual Side Walk Sale Days.

Vedat Alp, President of the Chamber welcomed all attendees, including the Developer James Demetrakis and Project Manager Sevda Kurt, as well as representatives of the development company, lending institutions involved in the project, business owners, members of the governing body and area resident.

The ceremony commenced once iron workers from the project hung an American Flag on the steel frame.

Mayor Thomas Calabrese, in his remarks, spoke of the obstacles that the project had to overcome from the financial crises the country faced, to the stone that had to be broken up by hand. “This is a day we waited a long time for, and we look forward to the completion of the project in the Spring of 2017.”

Councilwoman Donna Spoto, representing the Bergen County Division of Economic Development, called the project the “crown jewel” of Anderson Avenue, and said she “hopes it brings the town back to the days when everyone strolled up and down the Avenue.”

The project has three levels of garage parking, one level of 200 spots which are set aside for the municipality. This will enable residents to have a place to park while shopping up and down the Avenue, and giving the town additional revenue from parking meters which will assist in stabilizing taxes. The remaining 400 spots are for the residents of the Towne Centre.

There are over 54,000 square feet of retail, and 13 levels of residential apartments consisting of 314 units.

Amenities include a 16,000 square foot pool deck, fitness center, and common areas for residents.

The outside of the building will have an open air piazza where concerts and other programs will be held.
